The building at the airport is not displayed.

Postby Marlbon » Wed Mar 28, 2018 2:32 pm

How to deal with cases where the building at the airport is not displayed
I read it because there was a description in the manual.

However

C: \ ProgramData \ Lockheed Martin \ Prepar3D v4

Since there was not described in exe.xml and dll.xml in the above folder
I edited each xml file as per the manual.

However, since animan.exe does not work even after starting Preparation 3d
The building is not displayed.

What should I do?

Prepar3D v4.2
Windows 10 64 bit.

Probably your anti-virus is interfering, so do the following:

1. Disable real time protection in your anti-virus
2. Add an exception in your anti-virus from scanning the flightscene
folder (and FSX folder if you are using that).
3. Start the config tool, select "check for updates"
4. Run the scenery.

Anti-virus uses McAfee live safe
As the installer was originally installed at the time of installation, it was detected by real-time scanning and installation was impossible
Real time scanning is always disabled.

I also updated the configuration tool, but nothing changed.

The XML entries are not required for P3D v4. Make sure animan.exe and flightscene64.dll exist in the flightscene folder (the folder you installed the scenery into). Then run P3D at Tahiti, press ctrl+alt+delete to start the task manager. In the processes tab do you see animan.exe listed?

I understand.
Let's restore the XML entry to the initial state.

I also checked flightscene64.dll.

However, even if you start P3D and check with Task Manager, animan.exe is not working yet
The airport building is also not displayed.

I will try to uninstall CCleaner once and try installing again.

After that I uninstalled it many times and tried it
After all, even if you reinstall P3D you can not do it
Even if you change the version of P3D back to 4.1
Finally, changing the folder to install from drive C to drive D was useless.

After all, because animan.exe does not work behind the scenes, the building of the airport is not displayed.
Later on, what should I try?

Is there no way to enjoy it normally with P3Dv4.x without animan.exe?

The scenery depends on animan.exe to function. Under your Program Data folder (c:\Program Data\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\) open the addons.cfg file and make sure the following exists (with Your_Documents_Folder being the Documents folder location on your computer):

PATH=Your_Documents_Folder\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Flightscene_Animan
TITLE=Flightscene Animation Manager
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=false

Then check your Documents folder and make sure you have a folder called Flightscene_Animan. There should be a file called add-on.xml in that folder.

Finally make sure that animan.exe exists in the main Flightscene folder (where you installed the scenery).

If you have all of the above, that means your anti-virus is surely interfering. In that case:

1. Uninstall your anti-virus
2. Install the scenery
3. Run to test the scenery
4. Re-install your anti-virus
5. Add an exception in your anti-virus to prevent it from scanning the Flightscene folder

As I advise, I have confirmed all the items to be checked.

①I also uninstalled anti-virus software.

②I uninstalled P3Dv4.2 and reinstalled it.

③I installed Tahiti scenery and the update was completed.

④When you start P3D, the scenery is recognized by the scenery library and the scenery is loaded.

However, because the animan.exe is not running, the airport building was not displayed.

Although I checked the file etc. many times, since the installation is completed normally, the file etc does exist without problems.

Anti virus is not installed.

I am very sorry to think that I should give up now.

Did you register the product with your serial number?

Start a flight at Tahiti Faaa in P3D. Manually start animan.exe by double clicking on it. Monitor it through the task manager, does it keep running or not?

User registration was completed earlier.

I tried to run animan.exe directly after starting P3D
It did not start because it seemed to be causing an error.

Also, I checked the error in the system event viewer
It was displayed as follows.

I do not understand well, but is it related to SimConnect?
